After a long day of travelling we have now arrived at our first base - Eureka Campsite.  The flights and airports were easy enough to negotiate and we all made it through security in one piece!  The planes were very comfortable and had hundreds of movies and game to choose from (bowling was a particular favourite).

Then, after two 7 hour flights we arrived at Lusaka airport at around 4pm.  Everyone was surprised by how quickly it got dark and we arrived at Eureka at 6.30 in almost complete darkness.

The landscape is so beautiful here and the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold.  There are several cats around the campsite which everyone has become attached to very quickly.  The accommodation is perfect apart from the occasional spider or gecko and the people running the campsite seem lovely.

Overall, everyone is excited to get going with all the training and coaching that is coming up and we cant wait to explore Lusaka and Eureka campsite in the daylight.

The day after we left for the best trip ever!

Leaving school at 6pm to go on a 7 hour flight.  The airport was fun. Played eye spy in the 2 hour queue.  Finally it came to the time.  A 7 hour flight with everyone spread across the plane.  About an hour in we had dinner, it was amazing! Cottage pie and crumble.  Yum.  Once that flight was finished we were hurried throughout the airport to our next flight.  Where we were all sat together!  It was great.  The only problem with that flight was that it felt like it lasted for years.  Flight finished, bought our visas and came out of the airport to a photographer.  It is because Mr Horrod is famous!!! 👍  We all then waited for the coach, which was great.
Driving through Lusaka was beautiful.  I had a long sleep on the coach and suddenly I woke up, it was pitch black and we had arrived.  Took our bags out, found our rooms and got ready.  We had dinner, soup and stew, very delicious.  Everyone got into the pyjamas went to sleep, ready to wake up for the adventurous day ahead.
