It was our first proper day here. Today we went around lots of the schools that we will be working with to teach Tag Rugby. We were introduced to the really nice teachers that work there - and if we were lucky - some of the children. It was very eye opening seeing their classrooms compared to what we have back home. But it definitely made me more grateful for what I have. I am super excited to go back there and start up the tournaments.
Just wanted to say hi to my family and to let them know I am having a great time! Love you guys!

It was what I call an early start this morning (6.30am), which resulted in several people missing breakfast and most people being late for the bus. Once on the bus, we visited many of the schools and communities that are participating in the tournaments. The schools varied in sizes and quality, however they were all similar due to the fact they were all one story tall and consisted of many detached buildings.
My favourite thing however was that every school we were met with a warm welcomes and giant smiles. We also met some of the Zambian young leaders who have been coaching many of the teams here in Lusaka. They were extremely friendly and love to make jokes, they also taught us some of the local language.
We arrived back at around 5pm and relaxed until around 7pm when we have had beef lasagne, salad, bread and ice-cream for dinner. Afterwards there was a competitive pool match in the bar. So far the positives are that the food and accommodation are amazing and the locals are all so friendly. The only negative is that it can be quite cold in the evening due to the winds.
Looks like a great first day!
