Today was a bright and early start as we left at 6.30am to lead in our second tournament in Chainda, where we led 5 eager schools and around 20 teams today.

I was lucky enough to manage a sweet younger team from Chainda Open (School), and even though we did not win a game and it took a lot of teaching and encouragement to get them to learn the correct rules, they came in with the biggest smiles and learnt a lot, especially with the help from my little friend Lison (from my team).  Lison helped me translate the other childrens queries.

Also Cat - you should be exceptionally proud of Scarlett today as not only was she the only girl referee but she also refereed the youngers finals with no errors with Kara's team taking the win.

Without a doubt this first week here has been a huge eye opener, we have been warmed and welcomed with huge smiles and the Zambian handshake, as well as seeing the children's faces light up with joy at the sight of biscuits and donations is so special.

Tomorrow is another early start for us all and it will be the biggest tournament in Zambia Tag Rugby history.  We will have 670 children and 67 teams so wish us luck! 🙏

Mum and Dad - I hope it's not too quiet without me, I miss you guys lots and hope I make you proud, I love you!!x Also James - Sorry I got to come to Zambia and you didn't.

Hello Everyone ready this, today we organised a tournament an hour away from camp.  5 different schools were part of the tournament that we all collectively led.  On the way I was serenaded by some Adele fans, who pretended to know all the words to her songs.  I enjoyed dancing and leading a school team called Rainbow House.  They made me dance in the middle of a humungous circle - personally I think I was the best!  I taught my team the macarena and they learnt really quickly, which I was very proud of.  I enjoyed greeting the teachers with a Zambian handshake that has now become second nature to the majority of us.  That will defo be coming back to England with me!

Tomorrow is the biggest tournament yet, which will be a challenge but I am looking forward to pushing myself.  The early starts aren't ideal, however they have taught me the importance of being on time.  Today we were supposed to be up at 5.30am but I woke up at 6.07 which meant I got changed in under 30 seconds!

Miss all my friends and family, hope you're not having too much fun without me - which I doubt you are.  Mum you would fit in well here, we got pulled over for speeding 2 days ago!

Love Evie x
